Word Count

So I'm wondering if there's a way to put password protection on my efiction site, and if it's possible to get an individual-entry word count for LJ, so I can figure out if I want to upload my story on my site or a new LJ. Cause there's the slim (next-to-nothing) chance that I might (if it's any good at all) try to get something published someday, so I need to password protect most of it. Which efiction doesn't do. But efiction *does* have word counts. I haven't found one for LJ yet. Anyone know of a trick that will help me out? NaNoWriMo is coming very soon!

I think I'm going to start up a new LJ for NaNo purposes. That way I can protect my entries against the possibility that I might someday try to be published. I guess we'll see. I have to think up a name though. Not sure what I'll use. Been a long time since I needed a new screenname ;)
