the places you learn things
Jan. 6th, 2006 10:39 amSad but true: I learned a new word today from a romance novel.
Lugubrious: 1. mournful; especially : exaggeratedly or affectedly mournful or 2. dismal.
I'm a bit lugubrious today because shortly I'll be going from my own new computer at work (of just over two months, with Windows XP and all sorts of other goodies) to sharing an older model in a different lab. I whine too much, I suppose. At least there's access there. But (gasp!) no games, no always open email...guess I'll just have to work like other folks do.
I realize this is a stupid feeling and it shouldn't bother me so much. But it does, unfortunately. I'm trying not to think about it and instead think of how I'll be in Vegas tomorrow. Wish me luck; a winning streak would sure make me feel better.
