Are you going to be attending Archon (Sept.30-Oct. 3) over in Collinsville Illinois? That friday night (Oct. 1) I'm pretty sure will have HP programming, as I think that's the night the HP costuming group I'm a part of chose for the Hogwarts Open House (HP meet and greet). If you like fans and fans in costume...you should try and go.

I'm thinking about attending...it seems pretty expensive, and I'm quite shy, so I'd have to be sure to meet up with someone! Can you tell me what might be happening? Is there a discount for only going in the evening? And how long did it take you to sew your robe? lol. If I go I'd try to sew at least the robe before then...guess we'll see.

alright...here we go:

- You CAN get a ticket JUST for one day. The Hogwarts Open House (casual meet and greet with people in character and themed events for adults) is Friday night October 1, from 10 PM to 11 PM. Harry Potter fanfiction and Harry Potter costuming panels are Saturday morning, I think during the later part of the morning. I know I'll be at the open house, but I'll be coming up to Archon around 1-2 PM on Saturday, and thus will miss the Saturday morning programming. If I were you, I'd buy a full pass for the weeekend and go Friday night and Saturday, if all you want to check out is HP programming. If you don't mind the fact that I'm not costuming HP on that Saturday, I'll be there to hang out with both days. There's a dealer's room, many panels, video rooms....etc etc. There will probably be fans from just about every time of sci-fi and fantasy fandom, mostly 18 and over, so you won't be alone.

- I've bought my robes, as I'm better at crafting accessories. My SS/CoS robe and first PoA robe took about two months to complete due to backed up commissions. My second PoA robe I bought as a custom order through ebay, and from when I sent the payment to when I got the robe was about two weeks, perhaps less. All of them were made to my size, but the first PoA robe was a bit short on me, so I'm selling it. if you're shorter then 5'8" and have a chest smaller then 48", you'll fit if you want a Gryffindor PoA robe. I'd be happy to sell it to you if you'd like that. Otherwise, from others I've talked to, the robe didn't take too long, but then again they are all experienced costumers.
