Science...and a date (sort of)
Sep. 14th, 2005 02:09 pmTracking stem cells We do almost the same thing at the lab, except we use non-radioactive tracers and it's old-fashioned bench work that discovers the kinetics of the tracers...
So I sort of had a date on Friday. My mom paid for an account on Match.com and a guy on there goes to Wash U, and he asked if I would like to see the womens' volleyball game Friday night. I said yes, since he is cute and sounds like a nice guy, so lo and behold Friday night finds me at the former Sigma Chi frat house (since converted to student housing because the Chi guys are so bad) and talking to said guy, who is indeed nice. We chat about things and then head over to the Athletic Complex, and yay! Free stuff! Not only free food (and seriously concentrated lemonade) but t-shirts, visors, armbands and cups. Oh, and free Ben&Jerry's. Gotta love freshman orientation. I technically still am a WU student, just not undergrad...so I don't really count, but I figured WU could stand to give me a little for free ;)
The ladies won all three games in their set, so yay Lady Bears...made me miss campus, being in the AC after all this time. I miss being in school, but I don't miss school. I miss the people and the activities and the track especially. Gotta start working out. When did I turn into such a lazy bum? Sigh. Someone come help me get motivated. I guess I should email the guy back, because I wouldn't mind doing more with him. And there's another guy in Collinsville who sounds interesting, as he plays guitar and wouldn't mind helping me learn a little ;)
So cross your fingers. It sure would be nice to have a boyfriend after all this time. And I have to send mad props to the Cardinals for finally winning a game that I attended. It was close for a while and even tied until the bottom of the 9th when the team finally got some more hits. Go Cards! *shushes before they lose because I'm paying attention*
