Chapter 7
Have a Nice Day
Turn your computer off. If you have a cell phone, take it out of your pocket and leave it at home. If it's nice out, consider going for a walk. If it's raining, you might go to a museum or a library or a coffee house. Visit a friend, or stay at home. If you see a baby, give it a big smile. If you run into someone you like, wish them well.
You don't have to do this for a whole day. You can do it for a few minutes in the morning or during any part of the day really. You can even do this a little bit every day. And even though it has nothing to do with writing code, if you take breaks regularly, you will probably end up writing better code. Go figure.


Oh, and that car alarm that stopped? It went back on again. Then it stopped. Now it's on again. Egad. And now it's off. Think it'll start again? Yep, it did. Thank goodness for crecendos in music.

That's hilarious and wonderful advice!! I mean, don't take it if you're in the middle of programming something and you're on a roll, but for the most part, highly beneficial, a break. Smile at babies. Ha!

Oh, and I've friended you and you don't have to friend me back but you better. Or else I'll... De-friend you! So there. Muahahaha. ;)
