Yes, the writing is pretty juvenile. Yes, it's pretty much Mary Sue. Yes, it's vampires and werewolves and teenage angst. But at heart it's a love story, and that makes me smile. So yes, even though I'm way out of the target range for the books, I'll see the movie, and hope it isn't horrible. If nothing else, I can look at Robert Pattinson for a few hours.

But but but but but... it's not a love story! It's a how-to guide for abusive codependent relationships disguised as a Mary-Sue romance!

I don't agree with the way SMeyer portrays life (or lack thereof, as the case may be) but I have a soft spot for fantasy, and that's all Twilight is. Also...if she writes the way she does and gets a book published, then surely one of my NaNovels (once I finish one, of course) will make the grade ;)

Will you be coming to meetings this year now that you're done with schooling?

Unfortunately not. I moved back to Texas and I'm trying to get married, so no real writing groups right now.

But still writing. Trying to get the butt end of this novel written. *laugh*

...Texas? wow. Our region will suffer without you. Good luck on the book. And with trying to get married. But isn't that sort of a do or do not thing? Are you having issues with making it to the altar because of, oh, I don't know, hurricanes? (And if you are, I am so sorry. I have to admit, living in the landlocked middle of the country has some advantages)

Hope you find a writing group.

Trying as in "planning a wedding while avoiding Momzilla's destruction of Tokyo." I am getting enough material for a memoir about how my mother is absolutely psycho. It'll be a sort of chick-lit thing.

May you find love and luck and happy medium between your mother and your wedding, then...

I'd read that book.

I was all for the Twilight saga until Book 4, unfortunately. But you're right, I do appreciate it anytime someone attempts a love story. Those are the hardest things to write.
